Pulp Fiction #2 : Mia Wallace

Mia Wallace. Wife of Marcellus, and she likes to party, dance, and snort coke. She is a very interesting character. We meet her when Marcellus asks Vincent to keep her company and show her a good time. This freaks Vincent out, you know, because of the whole Tony "Rocky Horror" thing. Marcellus is very protective over Mia, and Vincent doesn't want to get thrown out of a 6th story window. He goes along and when she wants to dance he says, "No". She then makes him dance, because, "her husband, your boss said to show her a good time." This introduces us to one of the best dance scenes ever. Iconic, even. Anyway, Mia ends up screwing over Vincent pretty good by accidentally snorting Heroin, thinking it was coke. She is OD'ing when Vincent loads her up and takes her to his dealers house. The famous "Give her the shot" scene follows. He must inject her in the heart to pop her out of the lifelessness she presently is in. Vinny wants the Dealer to give her the shot, to which he responds, "the day I bring an OD'ing pooba to your house, I'll give her the shot." Classic. Mia is the character with the scenes that really shows the genius of Tarantino. 2 scenes do what no one else has. Hollywood is a "fairytale" place, where your hair is always fixed, your car is always clean and shiny, and if you need something that only exists on the far reaches of the planet, it just happens to be for sale at the local convenience store. What Tarantino did was reality. When Vincent goes to pick Mia up, she says, "be down in two shakes of a lambs tail," when she finally comes down stairs, all we see is her feet. When she says to Vincent she is ready to go, she shows the underside of one of her feet. I only mention this because, A: we never see that perspective of any one's foot, and B: they are filthy. "7 eleven feet", if you will. They really portray how the bottom of our feet would look after a long day walking around the house with no shoes on. The second scene involves the needle in the heart. Everyone is freakin out, and Vincent needs a marker to "mark" her heart, so he doesn't miss. He screaming for a magic marker, a F***ing felt pen, a black magic marker!!! Not that strange except he is brought the first marker that is found which happens to be Red in color. As I said before, in Hollywood, if someone specifically asked for a Black Magic Marker, that is exactly what he would have got. He also would have got instantly, like, "...funny you should ask for that, I just so happen to have one in my underpants." Mia almost messes everything up, but she is a pretty stand up chick. She did win the dance trophy, she eats her steak bloody as hell, and she loves $5 milkshakes. "That's milk and Ice cream?" Thats $5?!? "You don't put no Bourbon in it?"
