The Man with One Red Shoe

This highly underrated spy film is really awesome. Not only is it awesome, but it is also the second spy movie I've reviewed that stars Dabney Coleman in a week's time. This movie caused an all night expedition involvolvinf myself and the A-Bomb in an unsuccessful attempt to rent and/or buy a copy of the film. I had to order it off Amazon and wait a week for my gratification. I grew up on this extremely witty tale of mistaken identity. It's more like, an unsuspecting boob violinist who gets thrown under the bus of a CIA surveillance operation against his knowledge. Yeah, that's more like it. It is brilliant comedy early in Tom Hanks career. The baddies who are actually being followed by the CIA decide they need a fall guy. They set up a fake meeting at the airport, where they ID their contact as The Man with One Red Shoe. Our hero happened to be wearing two different shoes on that particular day, so it really set him apart in airport full of people. His shoes did not match because of a practical joke his best friend played on him. His friend played by Jim Belushi, is married to Princess Leia herself. Hanks character, Richard is actually bangin her, so I guess the jokes on him. Bad situations, and hot female spies complicate Richards life. Especially his plumbing, which was one of the funniest scenes in the movie, along with the Dentist scene. If you are lost right now, you need to watch The Man with One Red Shoe immediatley. As ignorant as Richard is, he is quite the brilliant musician. The CIA is constantly second guessing this guy as bad boy, but that does not stop the surveillance, which gets more and more wacky. I love this movie for so many reasons, and they may be different from your reasons, but I bet we could have a really good conversation about it.
