A Murder of Crows

This is the second review in a row that stands at 0% on RT. Granted, it only has 5 reviews, but because they are all negative, it stands with big ol' goose egg. I saw this film on HBO several years back and was surprised how much I enjoyed it, especially since I had never even heard of it. It has a twisted plot, and is quite thrilling right up until the very end. the story follows a southern lawyer, Lawson Russell (Cuba), who is disbarred after he refuses to continue to represent is extremely rich prick client, Thurman Parks III (Eric Stoltz). Lawson is a very good attorney in his own mind, and never had a problem with his job, until one day when his client admits his guilt to Lawson. His conscience kicks in and he stops representing him. He was disbarred for his actions, but didn't care. He needs to keep busy, so he decides to write a book about his life. Plagued by writers block he is not having much luck. Then one day he meets an old man who has written a manuscript and asks Lawson to read it and give him notes. While Lawson is in possession of this man's work, the man dies. Lawson's once prominent conscience must have gone on vacation, because he passes the man's novel off as his own. The novel brings Lawson fame and fortune right up until a copy is delivered to a local detective named Clifford Dubose (Tom Berenger). Dubose reads the best seller and instantly begins dissecting it. The novel follows the murders of 5 Lawyers, and the written similarities cross over with reality. Enough reality, so that Lawson is arrested and investigated for the murders. Twists and Turns throughout, this film is quite exciting. I have only seen it once, about 7 years ago, and I can still recall most of the plot points and surprises. This movie should not be passed up if an opportunity arises to watch it. You will not be disappointed. I would even pay upto $6.52 for a copy (after tax). Now that I have been talking about it I am going to have to Netflix it, so I can watch it again.
